Design inspiration for beautifully resolved rooftop spaces.
The Skyline Retreat
A luminous pool, a shaded pavilion and a fire lounge create three distinct ways to enjoy the same view.
What we love: the balance of water, warm light and clean stone lines. The planting softens the perimeter while the arrangement keeps the skyline at the centre of the experience.

What we love: the way the pergola, stone kitchen and garden edge create a sense of enclosure without losing the openness of the view.

Extraordinary
starts with
understanding.
A rooftop is part of a building. Its design needs the same level of care as the spaces it overlooks.
Begin with feasibility
We establish the vision and available information. Structural capacity, proposed loads, waterproofing, drainage and access require site-specific review by the appropriate qualified professionals.
Design as one team
The landscape, pool and amenities are coordinated with the building’s architecture and specialist requirements, including wind exposure, guards, services and maintenance access.
Make the sequence clear
We define the scope, consultant interfaces, approvals, procurement and construction logistics with the project team before the installation sequence is agreed.
Care for every detail
From material junctions to the final walkthrough, our focus is attentive communication, coordinated execution and a finished environment that feels considered.
White-glove attention
High expectations.
Personal attention.
For clients who value meticulous details and thoughtful, responsive service.
We take the time to understand how you want to live—or how residents and guests should experience your property. Clear communication and care for the client experience are central to the way MiltonStone works.
Rooftop landscapes & pools / Answers
Let’s look closer.
Can a pool be added to an existing rooftop?
Possibly, but it is a site-specific feasibility question. Before a design is finalized, the building’s structure, proposed loads, waterproofing, drainage, access and servicing need review by the appropriate qualified professionals. An existing roof should never be assumed suitable for a pool.
What can a luxury rooftop landscape include?
Depending on the building and approved design, a rooftop landscape can combine planted gardens, a pool or spa, lounge and dining areas, pergolas, an outdoor kitchen, lighting and water features. We shape the layout around the intended use, available space and technical requirements.
Do you work with condominium and commercial rooftop projects?
MiltonStone welcomes enquiries from condominium communities, developers, property managers and private owners in Toronto, Oakville, Burlington and the GTA. Each project starts with a discussion of the property, decision-making team and scope.
What needs to be considered beyond the appearance?
The design team needs to consider structure and loading, waterproofing, drainage, wind exposure, guards, access, servicing and maintenance. Pools also introduce water treatment and equipment requirements. The applicable approvals and specialist responsibilities are established for the specific building and scope.
How much does a rooftop landscape or pool cost?
Cost depends on the building, structural requirements, access and lifting logistics, waterproofing coordination, surface area, materials and amenities. A site review and defined scope are needed for a useful estimate; a generic square-foot price would miss major project variables.
Can you coordinate the rooftop with the rest of our property?
Yes. The design direction can connect the rooftop with ground-level courtyards, commercial entrances, pools and other outdoor spaces. We can discuss a coordinated landscape construction scope with your property and consultant teams.
What should we send for an initial consultation?
Share the property address, roof photographs, available drawings, intended amenities, approximate area and target timing. If you already have an architect, engineer or property manager involved, include that context so the right people can take part in the first discussion.
